2nd trip to England

Our trip to England began with a long and crowded coach journey, thankfully we had Harry Potter playing on the coach TV to get us through the night and into the English frame of mind. We arrived to a breathtaking sunrise on the white cliffs of Dover, a sight which should never be taken for granted, and the students happily started taking in the first of many authentic British moments whilst us, the teachers, started clutching the first of many cups of British coffee. Our journey continued onward until we arrived in our hometown for the next week, Stratford-upon-Avon, otherwise known as the birthplace of Shakespeare. The students had an hour to themselves to refuel before our day's activities began. Of course, the nearest Poundland became besieged by our group. We never thought we would see the boys so excited over pens, but one hundred pens for one hundred pennies soon changed that. After we had finished raiding Poundland, we got back to the more cultural side of things. We stepped back in time when visiting Shakespeare's house on a guided tour and explored the place where the playwright who shaped the English language grew up. In Anne Hathaway's house we saw where the love of his life resided. Then, lastly, in Holy Trinity church we visited the final resting place of Shakespeare and his family. Our day of travel, culture and pens concluded with meeting our host families who served us a hot dinner and provided a warm bed.

Sunday morning brought us breakfast and excitement because we were about to say hello to Legoland, a firm favourite among the students. Even though the weather decided to greet us with its typical English self (rain, gloom and a tad more rain) we managed to enjoy seven straight hours of thrills. One of our students even managed to win a massive cuddly dog, putting us teachers to shame since our several attempts completely failed.

With the weekend over, it was time to let the students try their hand at studying in an English school.

Over the next four days, a lesson was held in a beautiful location every morning. The students created their own restaurant menus and composed articles whilst just outside the window British rowers sailed past on the misty morning river. In the afternoons we alternated between stuffing ourselves with chocolate at Cadbury World, becoming miners at the Black Country Living Museum, walking the hallways where the lover of Queen Elizabeth I. resided, becoming a perching spot for monarch butterflies and of course doing a mad shopping dash in the holy grail that is Primark.

Leaving our host families and sailing away from England's shores were sad moments but made easier by knowing the whole trip had been one of the most memorable experiences we could have had.

Anglie I

Our trip was 20th-27th August. Our class 7.B and some kids fromthe sixth grades visited Stratford upon Avon in Great Britain. The kids were living with families who drove them to the meeting point from which the kids went on bus to English lessons every morning. After the lessons ,the program began.Within the program the kids had an opportunity to visit some interesting places around Stratford. For example, the birthplace of famous William Shakespearem, The Black Country Living Museum which is an example of gorgeous open-air museum with shops and restaurants serviced with people in costumes. Ruins of Kenilworth castle, LEGOLAND and many others. Our last trip was a tour of an old school in Stratford in which William Shakespeare studied.

My experience in the Netherlands

About a week before we arrived in the Netherlands we got contact details for our paired student, but it was still funny to guess which one is him or her. When we arrived in the Netherlands we had some time to get to know each other personally during the welcome lunch. Then our family came for us and I met them for the first time. The whole week we were mostly travelling by bicycles, so it was nice to reawaken our cycling skills, because our winter is too cold to cycle. A lot of people there told me that we were lucky, because it rained only once and only for about ten minutes. Our new friends were very nice, they organised small parties for us which were great. But the best was the penultimate meeting on the beach, where we had a picnic and played rugby, we stayed until dark. I liked the Netherlands a lot, because of the nature, beautiful architecture and mostly because a lot of people were travelling by bicycle.
The Netherlands is definitely a country which I would like to visit at least one more time, but for a much longer period.

Brighton 2018

Having crossed the English Channel we commenced our adventure in Hastings where we made use of a train taking us to the village with an interesting name Battle. What appealed to us was a lovely place called Battle Abbey with beautiful greenery around. After having a quick lunch we made our way back to the coastline town. Hastings provided us with the opportunity to enter the Smugglers’ caves and take the funicular up the hill. In the evening we arrived at our English host families which served us a long-expected English dinner.
The second day our coach took us to a picturesque town Winchester where we glanced into the famous cathedral and then did our first shopping on the English soil. Afterwards we explored Windsor Castle where Queen Elisabeth II. sometimes enjoys the weekends. We were amazed by the monumentality of the whole site.

The following four days in the morning we did our best to improve our English at school in Worthing. We spent the afternoons in four different places. Portsmouth offered us two absorbing objects to see, namely the HMS Victory and the Spinnaker tower with its breathtaking view on the port.
The next day we visited Hever Castle, the seat of Anne Boleyn and were enjoying ourselves in three different mazes. On Wednesday we headed to the sea to admire the cliffs (Beachy Head) which dominate the coastline. On top of that, we took pleasure in watching the sunset on the beach.
The very last day in England we took a train to Brighton where everybody couldn't wait to dash into Primark and went on a shopping spree one last time in England. For several pupils it was the icing on the cake of the trip. In the evening we said goodbye to England and headed back home.
We were fortunate to have wonderful weather which helped us enjoy our trip to the full.

1. England 2017

After a tiring journey by coach through Germany and Belgium we arrived in Calais so that we could
take a ferry to England. The sea was far from being calm and huge waves were really annoying. However, we were enthusiastic to land on English soil to commence our adventure.

We set off southwest to reach Hastings. Having arrived there we boarded a train going to Battle where we visited the place renowned for the battle of Hastings dating back to 1066. Subsequently, we went back to the town of Hastings to take a look at the Castle Hill and we also entered the Smuggler's caves which aroused our interest with its mysterious atmosphere. Afterwards, full of expectations and longing for the opportunity to speak English, we travelled to meet our host families. Some of us had the first experience with the English cuisine.

The next three days in the morning we attended English lessons and worked hard to improve our English. The teachers were inspiring and motivating and to be there was fun. After school we had a bite of various yummy things our host families had prepared for us. Needless to say, in the lunch boxes there were also vinegar chips which you either love or hate.

In the afternoon we made our way to Portsmouth where we could thoroughly explore HMS Victory, Admiral Nelson's ship. We had a whale of time at the top of the Spinnaker Tower with its breath-taking view and popular glass floor where some of us did press ups. The next day our coach took us to spectacular cliffs Beachy Head where we could take amazing snapshots and then we had a stroll in the area of Pevensey Castle.

The following day after saying goodbye to our host families as well as to the teachers we headed to Brighton to experience another picturesque coast town spending a few hours in Sea Life Centre and afterwards as an icing on the cake we dashed into Primark to go on a spending spree for the last time. Covered with various new items of clothing and other souvenirs we boarded our coach to set out back home.

Trip to Denmark 2017

Our school has already organized an exchange trip for eighth class pupils for the fourteenth consecutive year. This year, 21 students came on the tour.

The first part of the exchange took place in Prague from 18.4. to 22.4.2017. The danish children were accommodated in host families. In this program organized by the school, the children attended a one-day English or German language lesson on the first day, went on a guided tour of Prague with a „special quest“ and then their own bowling tournament. The pupils spent the  next day at  „rope sport center“ where they did various tight-rope activities designed to to build trust and teamwork. Finally they had laser-games and visited the Terezín concentration camp on the last day. Afternoon and evening programs were always provided by the host families.

The entire program was in English.

The second part of the exchange took place from 30 April to 5 May 2017. Once again, we had the opportunity to visit the Danish town of Ringe and our partner school, Ringe Efterskole.

An extensive program was prepared fot our children - they attended classes and sports activities at the school, as well as, Ringe games. They visited Legoland and the city of Odense with a tour of the Hans C. Andersen Museum.  They also went on boat cruises along the river in the coastal town of Faaborg. The program also included a cycling trip to the Egeskov Chateau. At the end, Danish parents prepared meeting in common at the school for all participant - the traditional "goodbye party".

During our stay, our children lived with Danish families, so they not only had the opportunity to practice in English, but also to have a look at everyday life in Denmark and establish new friendships in Western Europe.

Our Trip to England 2016

This September the seventh class 7.A and some pupils from the eighth classes went to a region in England  that is called Cornwall. We spent there almost two weeks. We stayed there in local families in a town called St Austell. At the beginning we were a little bit worried in which family we would live and if we understand them but they all were really nice to us, so there weren´t any problems.

We went to an English school every morning for four days. There we learned something about the Cornish history and culture. We also learned some new English games and songs, so we had fun as well. In the afternoons we always went for trips around Cornwall (sometimes also Devon) and we visited some famous places like Tintagel – the castle of King Arthur, the Eden project, Truro – the capital of Cornwall and many other interesting places. We normally came home to our host families at around 7 o’clock in the evening. Our dinner was usually ready at that time. While we were eating and also after the dinner we could talk with our families. We also watched the X factor UK with them. That was really fun.

An the end of the English course we all got certificates with our level of English and an evaluation from the teachers. For the rest of the stay we had the whole-day trips, so we had more time to go shopping, play on the local playgrounds (the English playgrounds are the best J) and see other interesting places. One of my favourite part of this trip was, when we went to the beach. We threw stones to the sea and simply enjoyed the fresh wind and sound of the waves and seagulls. The best place we visited was the fun park of Flambards. There were really cool roller-coasters and huge slides.

I think we all enjoyed this trip a lot. Thanks to all the teachers that made this trip happen.

Cornwall – 2016

Full of enthusiasm we gathered at the crack of dawn on the morning of our first day to set off from Prague towards our adventure. In the evening we were accommodated at a hotel in the vicinity of Calais.
Having managed to catch the morning ferry in Calais we were rewarded with a breath-taking view of the majestic white cliffs in Dover. On our way to Cornwall we stopped to look at Stonehenge, the best-known prehistoric monument in Europe. After arriving in St. Austell we were given a warm welcome from our host families.
The next day we headed for St. Michael’s Mount, a castle on the hill, which is accessible only a few hours a day depending on the tide. No sooner had the sea fully retreated than we started to cross the wet walkway towards the castle. In the afternoon we travelled to Land’s End and we experienced what it is like to stand on the westernmost point of mainland England. Just amazing.
The following four days our children attended the school in Treverbyn. They surely enjoyed being taught by native speakers. In the afternoons we explored the Eden Project, the largest indoor rainforest in the world, climbed the steep stairs to walk around the ruins of Tintagel Castle that sits on a rocky peninsula overlooking the sea, paid a visit to Lanhydrock House with its magnificent gardens and also peeped into Bodmin Jail – a spine-tingling experience. Believe me!
The next day we devoted a few hours to Plymouth where we visited the Sea Life Centre and afterwards we took a short boat trip around Plymouth. Luckily the weather turned out to be even better than we had hoped for.
The following day we made our way to Dartmoor National Park hoping to soak up the atmosphere of ‘The Hound of Baskerville’, the well-known case of the legendary Sherlock Holmes. There is no doubt that the site has its own individual magic. Subsequently, we were fortunate to admire Exeter and its impressive cathedral.
The last but one day in England we spent in Torquay, a picturesque seaside resort and also saw Babbacombe Model Village where we were impressed with the amazing miniature world.
Having said goodbye to our host families with tears in our eyes we travelled to Bath. What definitely aroused our interest there was the Roman Baths complex, a well-preserved Roman site for public bathing.
Being filled with numerous new experiences we bid farewell to England and set off for our homes.
How about the same time next year again…eh?

Trip to Denmark 2016

After really nice time we had spent in Prague with our lovely Danish friends, we finally went to Denmark.

We travelled on Monday (16th May), from Prague to Ringe – it was about 12 hours in bus. Don’t worry, it was great also in bus. When we finally arrived, our friends were waiting for us and we were verry happy to see them. They picked up us, then they had introduced us to the families.

On Tuesday we met at school and went to morning assembly (that’s their traditional morning meet, where they sing). After that, they showed us their school, we had some activities in school (like mathematics with their teacher and gymnastics lesson) and then they showed us their really small city called Ringe. After our time in school, we had some free activities with our friends, we had different programs in small groups. A lot of us came to city called Odense.

On Wednesday we met at school and went to morning assembly again. After we went to Legoland by bus. In Legoland (it’s big funpark), we went in small groups and had a lot of fun. The afternoon program was different.

On Thursday we met and went to Smørmosen. We played minigolf there and after we had about 2 free hours on the beach. Personally, Thursday was the best day for me. We are having really nice pictures from beach. At afternoon, we met at school again and we had dinner together. First we tasted danish food, then we moved to gym and had a spring concert.

On Friday we met and went by bikes to Egeskov. We saw there museum, castle and really beautiful nature. The weather was good, but on the way to Ringe, it started to rain. Afternoon program was different, but a lot of people had some „Goodbye party“, like barbecue.

On Saturday we met and said goodbye to our friends. We had to travel back to Prague. Travelling back to Prague was okay and we were talking about our experiences in Denmark a lot.

I think, it was really good time and I hope, that everyone enjoyed this trip like me. I want to thank Mrs. Pavlišová, Mrs. Šrollerová and school Management for organizing trips like these. It was nice, we are having nice memories and we are having a lot of new friends.

Trip to Wales

Our trip to started on the 20th September. We drove through Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium. We slept one night on the coach. When we woke up we were in France and we were going to Calais. There we crossed the English Channel to Dover by ferry. When we came to a small town of Rhyl, we met our "family" for the first time. Every day went to school. The school was 20 minutes from our "meeting point". At school we had three groups and each of the groups had one teacher. At school we had 3 lessons every day.

Every day after school we visited a lot of interesting places. We visited for example: town with the longest name of the world, many castles, and a sea aquarium in Rhyl. We had three all day trips. One of them was to Chester. There was a shopping day because we had there many free times for shops. The second all day trip was to Liverpool. There we visited The Beatles Story and Liverpool stadium. The third trip was to the national park Snowdonia, where we visited the largest mountain in Wales Mount Snowdon. Before we came back to Prague we had stopped in London. We were there for one night. We visited many famous places.

It was a nice trip. I have really enjoyed it and I hope the others enjoyed it as much as I did.

Annie Vrabcová, 8.A.

This year our eighth and one of the seventh grades went to Great Britain. Specifically to North Wales. We went there through Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and France. We overcame canal La Mache on a ferry and got out in Dover. On our way to Wales we stopped in the city of Oxford and visited their university.

We stayed in a smaller town called Rhyl in host families. We stayed there for 10 days. We also went to school. The school was in another town called Colwyn Bay. The company was called CLT and they rent a few rooms in a big villa. We were at school for four days. Every day our after school activity was visiting castles and important cities and places. One of the castles, that felt the most interesting for us particularly, was Caernarfon. The Princes of Wales were crown there. But the most interesting visits took place on weekend. First we went to Chester where we had a shopping day. We must say that it wasn’t that interesting for us but at least we bought some presents. The other day was more interesting. We went to Liverpool. We visited The Beatles museum and then we headed to the football stadium. We don’t really watch football, so we didn’t quite understand the passion that some people felt.

After the weekend we got one more day in Wales. We went to a national park called Snowdonia. We left the other day early in the morning and headed to London. We arrived there in the evening and stayed in hotel Ibis for one night. In the morning we had our breakfast and headed to the centre of London. We visited some sights and had lunch. It was evening before we even realized it. We got on bus and headed back to the Czech Republic, the same way we came.

HALLOWEEN - A monster class 6.C

It is the 31st of October. All the scary monsters are coming out of their hiding places. But the monsters from 6.C are still in the dark. They are waiting...waiting for some small children,  who believe that monsters are real.

Fortunately there is Class 3 which  believes that they are real. They are coming to visit them. This is the time when the monsters of 6.C are coming out. They are happy that there are still some children who believe in monsters. Then they sing a song together. Happy Halloween!

European Day of Languages

Theatre Performance

The theatre performance 'ALIEN' took place on Thursday, September 25th for the fourth and fifth grades of our school. There were three actors participating in the play. Two actors played the main roles of agents and the third actor disguised as an extraterrestrial being embodied an alien. The agents wearing black suits and sunglasses did their best to incorporate pupils into the story. The agents spoke English as well as Czech so that the children could understand better. The third actor representing the alien only made some unrecognizable sounds. Unfortunately, the play sometimes looked rather chaotic and confusing. Nevertheless, pupils seemed to be enjoying themselves and hopefully it had a certain language merit for them.

The next theatre play which students could see was presented on Friday, September 26th. It was focused on the eighth and ninth grades. Pupils were invited to English ancient times particularly, the show was dealing with the History of England. All the actors spoke only English. To explain the plot precisely they used pictures, masks and various properties. They tried to highlight all the important historical figures as well as events - starting in the Celtic times continuing through several invasions to British islands with the peak of the Battle of Hastings. I really appreciate that the actors did not forget about the language development which was very closely connected with all the newcomers. The most interesting part was related to the private life of Henry VIII. The pupils could guess what had happened to his six wives. The whole play was very well structured and the pupils were involved into the plot. They seemed to enjoy the performance, moreover they got a clear historical overview which should contribute to their education.

Our trip to Barnstaple 2014

Our language trip to England started on the 20th September and we were nearly 2 weeks away. On the way there we stopped in Brussels and Bruges in Belgium and we stayed one night in a hotel in France. In the morning we crossed the sea from Calais to Dover by ferry. Before we got to our „home“ town Barnstaple, we went to see Stonehenge. There we walked around the „magic“ stones and we took lots of photos. At 6pm we arrived in Barnstaple where we met our host families. The families were very good and we liked them very much. In the mornings we had English lessons in the North Devon School of English where we learned lots of things. In the afternoons we went on trips, for example to the Atlantic coast, Lynton and Lynmouth, Exeter, Exmoor Zoo, Tintagel, Westward Ho! On Sunday we had a family day with our English families. Our family took us everywhere where we or they wanted to go.

On the way home we stopped for 9 hours in London. We walked round the city, we saw Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, the Tower of London and the famous Tower Bridge. The stop in London was amazing! At night we crossed the English Channel again and on Friday the 3rd October we arrived back in Prague.

We really enjoyed the trip and I am sure that our English is better now!

Trip to Denmark

The trip to Denmark (18.5.~23.5.)

Day one: A visit throughout the school (Friskole in Ringe). A trip to the sea and playing mini golf at the coast.

Day two: We went to Odense and visited the museum of the history of Denmark from 1900 to 1990. Then we had a boat trip. Some of us went bowling, go carting and laser gaming.

Day three: A trip to Legoland.

Day four: A bike ride to Egelskov. We also had a water fight in the afternoon. The evening was spent with the families by having a group dinner and a presentation of the photos taken in Prague.

Day five: The journey back home.

What did the students say:

Sasha: The people were very kind and I really loved Legoland.

Martin: I think i have improved my English very much. And I loved the food, it was healthy and delicious. The sea was very cold though. But I didn’t like that the land is very flat there, so they can’t ski in winter.

Kate: I enjoyed the trip very much and I really wanted to stay there longer. The programme was amazing and the people were very nice. I truly want to go there again someday.

Mina: I loved the programme, and the trip to Legoland was the best.

Ota:It was super exciting and the weather was very nice.

Adam: I liked, that there were no hills, so when we rode the bikes, it wasn’t so tiring.

Jirka: It was fine. And I liked the ladies.

Matěj: I liked the view and people there really live in peace with the nature.

Lukáš: The people were nice and I don’t think words can really describe it.

Annie: It was quite peaceful and there weren’t many tourists thats what i liked about it.

Bára: The people were very nice and I enjoyed the trip very much.

Henry: The sea was salty. The black sand tastes better than the yellow one. I’m the best! (pls forgive this rather illogical comment)

Vendelín: I loved the food so much!

Tom: The people were great, I would like to visit them again.

John: It was rather nice to meet so many new people and to have fun with them.

Sandra: It was exciting and the people were very nice, I would love to go there once more.

Mary: The trip was wonderful, but it was rather short, and I will truly miss the people there.

Bára: I loved the trip, and it was nice to meet all the new people, I would like to go there again someday.

Shee: I finally achieved doing the backflip, while getting help from the coolest parkour master, and I jumped into ice cold sea, which was so cool!

Alice:I think that this programme is very edu. I learnt a lot from it, my Danish friends taught me Danish, while I taught them Czech and improved our English. The change of scenery was refreshing and I got to experience the life in the countryside. I’m sure that I will go there again some day. The Danish family treated me very well. I recommend this programme to all the students that are considering being a part of it. Legoland and the cycling trip were so exciting! As was the dare-jump into the sea.

As you can see, the trip received great comments from the students that enrolled.  This programme is, always has been and always will be a success. It helps the students communicate, improves our English and opens our eyes to a whole different world. We encourage others that haven’t been there to enroll in the programme next year.

Just got back from England!

Our classes, 7.B and 7.C arrived from  England a week ago. We stayed in England for 14 days, or better to say, 10 days because the journey took 4 days. We got there by bus and it wasn’t that bad as we expected. On way there, we visited Bruges, a nice city in Belgium. We saw Bruges‘ sights, took some photos, tried Belgian chips and we went shopping too! We stayed there for about  4 hours and then we continued our journey to France. There, we slept one night in a small hotel. We had to get up very early because we had to catch our ferry. The ferry was really big, there were shops and mainly places where we could buy food. When we got out of the ferry, we went to see Stonehenge. We took some photos and relaxed a bit. At about 6 pm we arrived in Barnstaple and met our host families. The whole trip to England was awesome because of the trips too! We visited Tintagel, Exmoor Zoo, Exeter, Lynton and Lynmouth, famous beach Westward Ho!, Woolacombe, sport centre and many more. Trips were mainly in the afternoon. In the morning  we went to a special school only for us. We had 3 teachers, Tim, Rose and Roy. We always had 3 hours, one with each teacher. We played games, talked in English and, good for us, we didn’t write tests!

Our trip began on the 21st September and ended on the 4th October. We had fun and we learned a lot of new English. Our accent sounds a bit better and we know something more about England. We want to go back, and it’s especially because of our host families, our teachers in England and of course, our teachers who went with us from the Czech republic. We have a big THANK YOU for you, and we hope we will go to Barnstaple one day again.

WE VISITED JAN AMOS KOMENSKY

In May we went to Holland. We spent there five days which were full of tulips, cheese and mills. We were in Amsterdam where we visited Museum of Anne Frank and then we went by boat through the canals. Naarden was in our programme, too. There we presented our projects about The Czech Republic, Prague, the Czech school system and also about our school. It was in Comenia school where we also spoke with Dutch students and we could see their classes. We visited Museum of J.A.Komensky. The director Hans Linde with his colleagues prepared for us an interesting programme about our "teacher of nations". In Arnhem we admired great ZOO with large tropical houses with jungle, desert, bush and ocean.
Our journey was really short, but amusing and interesting experience.

My diary from Denmark

Sunday

We arrived late to Ringe, because our driver was driving too slowly. It was hard to recognize the person we were staying with because they looked different than on the photo they sent us. She and her mother live in an apartment close to their school, so it didn’t take long. She let me stay in her room and she slept on a sofa in their living room, it was very kind of her to do that, so I will have to let her stay in my room alone too. Her room was very nice with white walls and white furniture, and it looked very tidy. It was a bit small, but it was enough for me. For dinner, we had bread from dough like tortilla with some meat and vegetables.

Monday

We met up at school and our teachers divided us into groups. We were with people we were staying with and they had to guide us around school and show us around. It was their first day after a four week pause because their teachers protested. Later, we visited a church in their town and then we went to a museum about their town, Ringe. There was a guide, an old lady who had a big hump on her back. She was really small and she couldn’t speak English very well, so she always asked a Danish teacher how to say the word she couldn’t remember, it was very boring. Then we went to a library, we ate our lunchboxes there and then there was a disco with some more Danish pupils from their school. Then we went to minigolf, but it was raining and it was very windy, and I was freezing. After minigolf we went to Emily, one of the Danish girls. We sat around a big table; we drunk some hot chocolate and had some apple pie. Then they showed us some Danish pop music on YouTube and we showed them ours, it was fun. Then we had to go to Nanna’s place to eat some dinner, we had homemade pizza with ham and cheese. Later, we went to Nikolaj's house where Vojta stayed. He lived on a farm, it was really fun, we learned some Danish phrases and we taught them some words as well. Then we went to jump on a trampoline outside, everybody there had a trampoline, it was so cool.

Tuesday

We had to get up earlier, because we had to meet at school at eight. We gathered at their school with all the Danish pupils to sing some songs, it’s their tradition there, then we went to LEGOLAND, it was amazing, it was cold there but it didn’t rain. We went on a water attraction and I got wet, my pants were so wet. There were machines, dryers, but although I used it twice I still wasn't dry enough, so I was still cold. The attractions were amazing, there were many rollercoasters, and there was a place called The Temple where were 'laser games', where you were in a trolley and you had to point at lights around you and press the trigger on a 'gun' and it counted points. The best rollercoaster was The Polar Express, it was the fastest one and we were there about five times, I loved it. We had meatballs, potatoes with gravy for dinner, its typical for Denmark. In the evening we went to Louise’s place where Kája stayed and we played a game similar to baseball outside and jumped on a trampoline and then we went to look at huge greenhouses in which Louise’s family grew carnivorous plants, plants that eat insect.

Wednesday

We went to a dolphinarium called Fjord-og Bæltcentre. It was very interesting, we had some free time in there to look around and then there was a guide who was very funny and he told us some information about sea animals like whales and crabs. We got to hold one of the crabs they had there, it was amazing. He showed us a video how people in USA found a dead orca on the beach and they didn’t know how to get rid of , so they exploded it, but that wasn’t a good idea because then there were huge pieces of dead stinking meat falling from the sky. One of those fell on a brand new car and damaged it completely. Then we had some free time in the town, Kerteminde, where the dolphinarium was. We went to a shop called Netto, it’s like their Tesco and I bought a Danish chocolate and After Eight in a stick that we don’t have in Czech Republic. We went around the harbor with Caroline and took some nice pictures. Ten Caroline bought big fish and chips with ketchup that actually looked and tasted like it was made from tomatoes. I bought a banana split ice-cream, it was delicious. In the evening we went to Odense to look at the house where Christian Andersen lived, but it was The 1st of May, the day when people don’t work, so everything was closed. We didn’t have time to go shopping, so it was very boring there. Then Caroline stayed with us because Louise went to training. We watched a new episode of The Amazing Race where Joey and Meghan were eliminated, which was very sad, but then we played some games on my tablet, we had some excellent time. For dinner, we had spaghetti Bolognese, I was laughing a lot because of a helmet that Nanna's mother thought was nice but we didn’t, it looked ridiculous. Then we went to a girl where Matouš Klíma stayed and it was boring because Johanka and other girls from Denmark, Eve, Soki and Laura weren’t there, so nobody talked to us there.

Thursday

We biked to a castle, Egeskov. The way there wasn’t bad, but their bikes were terrible, they were like road bikes with brake systems like bikes for small children. You could stop the bike by reversing cycling - that was very bad for me because I always put my feet down before I stop the bike. The castle was amazing, we went on Segways, it cost 40 Danish crowns for fifteen minutes which I think wasn’t that expensive and I had a lot of money left, so I was happy to spend it on this.  We were there in a big group, it was fun. Later, we went to gardens that were around the castle. We didn’t go to the castle but I think that that was okay, because I don’t really like castles. Then we went on a stairway which led into the trees and then there were ladders with ropes and webs around so we don’t fall down, because it was really high. The way back wasn’t good, because the settle was very hard and I was wearing jeans, so it wasn’t comfortable. When we came back, Caroline and Louise stayed with us, so we drank some coffee and watched a movie, then we went to eat dinner at their school. Everybody was there, even their parents and siblings. It was fine, but there wasn’t much food I liked, but I wasn’t very hungry so it was alright. Later, there was a delicious strawberry cake. After few minutes, we went to their gym, it was terrific!  It was huge, we could jump from big a foam pit. I did a flip there. It was very difficult to climb out of the foam pit, but eventually, I got myself out every time. I wanted to stay longer, but we had to leave, because we left early in the morning.
